There is a new innovative idea that FIFA has suggested which may alter the 2025 season, especially for the fans of Manchester City and Chelsea. The governing body is proposing a closed two-week window in June for clubs in the following tournaments and teams participating in the 2025 CWC.
The above proposal would make it possible for big Premier League teams such as City and Chelsea to begin the signing of players two weeks before the commencement of the normal summer transfer window. From June 1 these teams could sign new talent before other clubs start perfecting their plans for transfers.
What’s FIFA planning to Heavily Promote the Club World Cup Teams?
FIFA’s plan would let English FA to give Club World Cup teams an early deadline for the transfers starting from Jun 1 to Jun 10. If the FA allow this then Manchester City and Chelsea could get new players as close to the start of the tournament as possible. This would give both clubs a good opportunity to enhance the strength of the squad and maybe attract those talents before the other shows up.
Just think how Pep Guardiola boosted his team just before the Club World Cup with a significant signing. Likewise, similar fans expected their club to sign new players to increase their likelihood of winning the tournament.
This makes this even more exciting as there is, enables the signing of players in the last year of their deals meaning that fans could see their favorite stars like Mo Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold, or Virgil van Dijk coming to play for the team in 2025.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted this change observing that, “These regulations will put in place optimum circumstances for all 32 participating clubs.”
This early transfer window could place City and Chelsea at a vantage point especially since the 2025 Club World Cup will be hosted in the USA.
