Lukas Podolski hailed Bukayo Saka as a "born dribbler" and Arsenal's best player ahead of their Champions League clash against Inter Milan.
It's been a difficult few weeks for Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta's men suffering a worrying slump and managing just two wins in their last five games in all competitions.
The Gunners' 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday means the club have dropped points in each of their last three Premier League games, leaving them seven points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Arsenal have the perfect opportunity to get their season back on track when they face Simone Inzaghi's Inter on Wednesday night.
Arsenal are hoping Martin Odegaard can return from an ankle injury to play for Milan, with the north London giants clearly short of creativity in midfield in the Norwegian's absence this season. According to former Arsenal striker Podolski, Saka remains Arteta's most important asset ahead of the competition.
Asked to name the best player at the club, Podolski - who also spent six months on loan at Inter - told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Bukayo Saka. A born dribbler."
For the Inter star, Podolski replied: “I say [Marcus] Thuram.
"Arsenal does not have such a striker.
"There's Havertz, it's true, but he's not number 9. That's the difference."
Summer signing Riccardo Calafiori has quickly won Arsenal fans over with a string of assured performances following his summer move from Bologna. Podolski, a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, has been impressed by Calafiori but believes there is still plenty of room for improvement in the defender's game.
"Arsenal are not a club of inexperienced players. They know what they are doing and if they have spent this money it is because they believe in this player," he added.
