Cody Gakpo texted his girlfriend while she was spotted at a Liverpool game. The Dutchman has impressed so far this season as a left-back and canceled out Brighton's equalizer at the weekend to give the Reds a hard-fought 2-1 win.
Off the field, Cody's girlfriend is Noa van der Bij, who gave birth to their son earlier this year, named Samuel Seth Gakpo. Noa works for a modeling agency and regularly shares updates on her personal life with her 44,000 Instagram followers.
Last week, he shared a series of photos showing what he's been up to lately. Noa has been busy with her baby and took him to the Emirates Stadium last month, where the Reds drew 2-2 against Arsenal.
The couple watched Cody play in games from the stands. She was accompanied by Estelle Bergkamp and her daughter Lomee. Estelle's partner is former Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek, while her father is Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp.
Noa then led Samuel into the tunnel, where a happy Cody was photographed holding his son aloft. Noa captioned the post with emojis of a hot drink, a vibrant brown heart, a stadium, and falling leaves. The post received thousands of likes. Cody showed his joy at the photos by commenting with two heart emojis.
Reacting to the update, one person said: "I love you." Another added: "Lovers." Scouse model Saffie Khan was among those who liked the post. She is the partner of Curtis Jones and the midfielder has recently revealed that the two couples are very close. Curtis, speaking ahead of the birth of his daughter Giselle, said: “(Cody and I) are very close, so I spend time with him. His girlfriend and I still talk too. He already has a kid, so he helps him with a lot of things. He’s my brother.”
