The Argentine forward has won two trophies so far with the Herons.
Argentine icon Mario Kempes has given his verdict on Lionel Messi's move to Inter Miami and says the former Paris Saint-Germain forward is three times happier at Inter Miami than at Barcelona.
Messi, who left Barcelona in 2021, joined PSG on a free transfer after the striker failed to sign due to the club's financial difficulties. Messi spent two years at PSG before leaving the club again and then joining the Herons on a free transfer.
Since signing for Inter Miami, Messi has made a huge impact for them, leading them to the League Cup trophy and the MLS Supports Shield. Messi has made a huge difference to David Beckham's team, along with his former FC Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suarez.

Now, the only trophy left for the winner of the 2022 World Cup is the MLS Cup, after his team was recently eliminated by Atlanta United in the knockout round of the competition.
However, the striker hopes to win next season. He is certainly enjoying his life in America reveals Mario Kempes. Kempes also said that Messi is much happier than he was at Barcelona, speaking to TNT Sports: "Messi is three times happier playing at Inter Miami than at Barcelona."
This is because Inter Miami has a "very good team" and Messi can choose his moments to contribute. Kempes added: "It's not about coming in and concentrating for 90 minutes. He plays when he wants to."
What's next for Lionel Messi?
Messi has 12 months left on his contract with Inter Miami and the forward will be back in action when the new season begins. However, he also has the option to extend his contract for another year, which would see him play until 2026. He could also decide to take part in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
