Is Mohamed Salah Set to Leave Liverpool in 2025?

Now 32, Mohamed Salah spent the peak years of his career at Liverpool. Despite the departure of Jürgen Klopp, he has started his eighth season at Anfield and playing under a new manager in Arne Slot. Salah, though unchanged in management, has been no less reliable with Liverpool atop the Premier League after eight games and boasting 10 wins from their first 11 matches of the new season all competitions won.

The rumors may have associated Salah with a departure in the summer of 2023 but that did not deter him to carry on playing at high levels, consistently producing over 20 goals per season across all his league seasons since he joined Liverpool.

Potentially in 2025, Salah at Liverpool?

His Liverpool deal runs until June 2025 but there is no indication over his long-term future with Jurgen Klopp's team. If there does not will be a new bindung, he can leave for free. Liverpool were approached with an offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad worth £150 million ($194m) in 2023, but they rejected the bid and suitors have been forced to switch their focus elsewhere as a result. If Salah remains at Liverpool without a new contract, he could talk to teams outside the Premier League as early as January 2025.

A switch to either a Saudi club or PSG would all mean decent munsh for Salah, with both destinations likely able provide their suitors cool cash.

The Liverpool headlines as Mohamed Salah contract latest emerge

Salah is reportedly keen to stay but hopes for a deal until June 2027 while increasing his wage at the club. He wants to add new all-time records for most prolific season of goals and assists ever at Liverpool. But that long-term contract may be one the club is not willing to offer, especially given his rising wage demands as he approaches 30.

Manager Arne Slot refused to be drawn on the issue, also with star players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk. On the back of that speculation, Slott told Eurosport in October ahead of an international break: “It's the same boring answer as usual. You can apply again after the international break."

Mohamed Salah Salary and Net Worth

By September 2023, reports suggest Salah will earn around £1 million ($1.3 million) per week, including income from advertising contracts and image rights. His current contract, signed in July 2022, puts his weekly wages between £350,000 and £400,000 ($454,000-$520,000), making him Liverpool's highest earner. If Salah demands a similar or higher salary in a new contract, it would represent a significant financial commitment for Liverpool.

When did Salah join Liverpool?

Liverpool signed Mohamed Salah in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma after a successful spell in Serie A. The initial transfer fee was reported to be £36.5 million, a club record at the time, and has since proved to be one of the best deals in Premier League.
