The transfer of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea to AC Milan can be defined as one of the most important points in his career, which he wishes he had done much earlier. The same can also be said of last year’s acquisition of Fofana on loan – he has already ingrained himself into Milan’s first-team unit. Given his age and the fact that the team is looking to extend its losing streak and thus win its first match of the season so far handled by Paulo Fonseca, these are critical attributes. The season so far has not been easy for Loftus-Cheek officially, two points in three games are clearly not impressive at all. Still, he is full of hope.
Maybe that is why when he eventually registered on the Notices.ClientList only complaints emerged. Loftus-Cheek has since made it clear to The Times Sport that perhaps he should have left Chelsea earlier on concerning his seeing more playing time. The hallowed place of Chelsea among the Champions League results is nevertheless wonderful.
How about the affordability of action since running low on stars isn’t synonymous with Chelsea’s competitive nature? He thinks that if he had one at an earlier stage in his career, probably he would have had fair chances of playing consistently gaining regular playing time but so. However, he however accepts that there is no denying the fact that Chelsea’s youth system is extremely well-designed and prepares players very well.
He proposed that young players, in particular teenagers aged 15 or 16, should try to move to lower clubs at first and work on getting enough time on the field as well as traveling playing able players. Such times, according to him, are crucial in terms of progression and are what he did not achieve by remaining at Chelsea for too long.
Having relocated to Italy, Loftus-Cheek has had to learn the methods of coach Paulo Fonseca and despite the way Milan had started the season, he still has reason to be optimistic. He stresses faith in the philosophy of the manager and that one must do everything possible on the football field. He claims it will take time to grasp the ideology of coach Fonseca, but once the ideology is mastered, victory will come.
A lot of encouragement has come from Milan stalwart Ibrahimović, which for this reason was very helpful. The high expectations that Ibrahimović has and his confidence in the team are motivating. Loftus-Cheek explains that the Swede has told him that he should score more goals, something that has now become an individual target for him.
And now, having just adapted to the realities of life in Serie A, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is convinced that both he and Milan would rise to the task and meet their objectives.
