France returns to UEFA Nations League action this week with a friendly against Israel in Budapest, Hungary.

Les Bleus are coming off a 3-1 home loss to Italy and then beating Belgium 2-0 in the September FIFA window. Their opponents, Israel, have not won any of the two matches that have been played in the League A Group 2.

Some troubles this week did meet Didier Deschamps as Mbappe isn’t included in the list of members of the squad anymore and Antoine Griezmann withdrew from the French national team. Further, Dayot Upamecano is out because of an injury, and Marcus Thuram is doubtful, thus France could line up very differently when they will appear in the Bozsik Arena.

Everything that you would like to know regarding the lineups and latest developments in the teams is provided below.

Israel vs France  lineups, team news

Israel was quite competitive in their losses to Belgium and Italy but much has changed after their 2-1 loss to Italy and much to the credit of their coach Ran Ben Simon, he has made closer to their ideal roster for the final game. Eli Dasa is back in the squad, having missed the September games, while Zurich’s Doron Leidner may play as a left-back. Bright young talent from Salzburg Oscar Gloukh might begin as a No.10, whereas Liel Abada from Charlotte FC and Manor Solomon, on loan at Leeds United, might form the strike force.

Tai Baribo, a striker for Philadelphia Union currently boasting of nine goals in nineteen appearances could also replace another striker to command a starting position because he has not been in any of the Nations League’s games.

Israel predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left):
Gerafi (GK) — Jehezkel, Nachmias, Shlomo, Leidner — Abu Fani, Kanichowsky — Abada, Gloukh, Solomon — Baribo

Full squad:

  • Goalkeepers: Yoav Gerafi, Shareef Keuof, Omri Glazer
  • Defenders: Doron Leidner, Denny Gropper, Eli Dasa, Idan Nachmias, Raz Shlomo, Ilay Faingold, Matan Baltaxa
  • Midfielders: Mahmoud Jaber, Ethane Azoulay, Dor Peretz, Dolev Haziza, Gavriel Kanichowsky, Omri Gandelman, Dan Biton, Mohammad Abu Fani, Eliel Peretz, Ramzi Safuri
  • Forwards: Tai Baribo, Dor Turgerman, Oscar Gloukh, Anan Khalaili, Manor Solomon, Liel Abada

France, for example, had to change their formation because Kylian Mbappe is unavailable for selection and Antoine Griezmann has retired. Marcus Thuram faced a scare in the team, and Christopher Nkunku who’s laid for more than a year in the French team can be back in lineup. In defence, Loic Bade could start the game for France replacing Dayot Upamecano while PSG’s Warren Zaire-Emery could also start in midfield following N’Golo Kante’s exclusion.

France predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left):
Maignan (GK) — Kounde, Saliba, Konate, Hernandez — Zaire-Emery, Fofana, Camavinga — Dembele, Nkunku, Barcola

Full squad:

  • Goalkeepers: Alphonse Areola, Mike Maignan, Brice Samba
  • Defenders: Jonathan Clauss, Lucas Digne, Wesley Fofana, Theo Hernandez, Ibrahima Konate, Jules Kounde, William Saliba, Loic Bade
  • Midfielders: Eduardo Camavinga, Youssouf Fofana, Matteo Guendouzi, Manu Kone, Aurelien Tchouameni, Warren Zaire-Emery
  • Forwards: Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani, Christopher Nkunku, Michael Olise, Marcus Thuram

Israel vs France Prediction

We shall be expecting Israel to at least showcase some attacking form and score but that will not suffice in seeing off the French side. Thus expecting that France, of its depth and quality, France shall win the match 2-1. But that’s football for you and it remains to be seen how the situation will be on the day of the match.
