Hungary open the door to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers by overcoming Bulgaria Harry Kane is counting on playing for Lee Carsley’s England in this week’s UEFA Nations League fixtures. Carsley also listed Kane for the games against Greece on October 12 at Wembley Stadium and Finland on October 15.
Kane’s fitness was a worry when he was substituted in the dying embers of Bayern Munich’s 3-3 Bundesliga match with Eintracht Frankfurt. Nevertheless, Kane has been to England’s training base at St George’s Park. England chief of medical officer Dr. Bryan is looking forward to conducting a second scan for Owen who is yet to be cleared by Bayern Munich’s medical department as declared by Bayern Munich spokesman Jens_clock Mueller whilst Carsley said that he will wait until he hears again for the result on the 31-year-old striker.
Indeed, Kane has been instrumental for his nation under Carsley scoring amongst other goals two goals in a recent 2-0 win over Finland at Wembley in a match that marked his centennial international match and 68th goal. Kane has moved past Rooney who had 53 goals in men’s senior internationals as the all-time top goal scorer for England. It also puts him in the overall top 100 for most capped players in England’s history, despite the list being headed by Peter Shilton with 125.
England's remaining 2024 fixtures in the UEFA Nations League include:
- Greece (H) – October 10
- Finland (A) – October 13
- Greece (A) – November 14
- Republic of Ireland (H) – November 17
These final matches are on for the team to gain promotion back to League A from the current League B.
