Harry Wilson scored twice in stoppage time to give Fulham a dramatic 2-1 win over rivals Brentford in West London on Monday. Vitaly Janelt had given the Bees the lead against the run of play midway through the first half. Fulham were frustrated until injury time when substitute Wilson equalized with a through ball and then found himself home the winner at the end. "It was an incredible feeling to come on and score the two goals that won the game. "We deserved it, we were in control the whole game," Wilson said.
The win leaves Marco Silva's men in ninth place and just three points outside the top four.
Brentford was moving towards the top half of the table until the last round but remained in 12th place.
Fulham failed to make the most of a determined start to the game as Mark Flekken denied Reiss Nelson.
Brentford had barely threatened before taking the lead in the 24th minute when Janelt scored from distance and fired a fierce shot past Bernd Leno. Emile Smith Rowe missed a good chance to respond immediately and the home side struggled to break down Brentford's massive defense after the break.
It took Fulham's 25th attempt to beat Flekken, thanks to an inventive strike from Wilson, who deflected off the Dutch keeper from Adama Traore's cross.
Moments later, the Welsh international scored a fortuitous second goal.
Wilson's header hit the shoulder and missed Flekken before turning into the top corner.
- They both entered, but not as I wanted! Wilson added. “I just helped the first one to the back seat, and the second one had better luck.
"I tried to drive to the next corner, but it hit my shoulder and it went."
