Chelsea is poised to receive an unexpected financial boost as they negotiate the sale of Angelo Gabriel to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. The deal, which is nearing completion, is expected to bring in around £19.5 million ($25.6 million), marking an £8.5 million ($8.6 million) profit for the Blues.
Gabriel, a 19-year-old Brazilian winger, was signed by Chelsea from Santos for £13 million ($17 million) in 2023. After failing to break into Chelsea's first team, he was loaned to Strasbourg, where he made 24 appearances without scoring. With Strasbourg opting not to pursue a permanent deal, Chelsea has now found a buyer in Al Nassr. The transfer will see Gabriel join a star-studded lineup in Riyadh, including former Premier League players Sadio Mane and Aymeric Laporte, alongside Ronaldo.
This move aligns with Chelsea's ongoing strategy to streamline their squad while generating funds for future transfers.
