Chelsea has officially secured Jadon Sancho on a season-long loan from Manchester United, to make the move permanent in the summer of 2025. The Blues are expected to pay between £20 million (€23 million/$26 million) and £25 million (€29 million/$32 million) to finalize the transfer, depending on Chelsea's performance this season.
Sancho's initial loan deal was completed just before the transfer deadline, following a challenging period at United where he struggled to meet expectations since his £73 million ($96 million) move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. His stint at Dortmund last season, however, saw him excel and help the team reach the Champions League final.
During his time with United, Sancho scored 12 goals in 83 appearances and won the 2023 League Cup. He now joins Chelsea as their 11th signing of the summer transfer window, adding to a squad that has grown to include over 50 players.
Sancho faces competition for a place in the starting lineup from Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, and Joao Felix. Despite this, he expressed enthusiasm about joining the Stamford Bridge club.
"I’m excited to be back in London," Sancho shared. "The manager’s project is appealing, and I’m eager to make an impact with goals and assists."
