Since replacing Erik ten Hag in October, Amorim has failed to bring stability to the Red Devils. United have picked up just seven points from a possible 24 in the Premier League under his management.

After the defeat against Newcastle, Amorim addressed speculation about his job security. "The Manchester United manager can never be comfortable," he admitted. "If we don't win, my job is in jeopardy. That's the reality and I accept it."
Sunday's match against Liverpool is decisive. A fourth consecutive league defeat would mark the first time United have suffered such a run in the same season since 1979.
The team is also in danger of going four games without scoring, a record not achieved since 1909.
What's next for Manchester United?
After the Liverpool game, United face a busy January schedule, including an FA Cup tie against Arsenal and a Europa League clash against Rangers.
Amorim has hinted at possible reinforcements as part of the transition period, but he is not sure they will arrive in time to make a difference.
