Barcelona have revealed that their teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal has been ruled out for some time by an injury after he was recalled to represent Spain. The 17-year-old was released to join the Spanish team for a UEFA Nations League match against Serbia on the 15th of October after he injured himself during a 1-0 win over Denmark. Yamal was substituted deep into the second half following spirited challenges from the Danish defenders; an MRI on his hamstring was negative.
But Barcelona came up with a new update stating that Yamal has an overload in the hamstring of the left thigh. The club did not put any timeline on when the player will be back since recovery time is usually based on the progress of the player. First, Barcelona expected him to be available for the match against Sevilla in Spanish league on October 20 but that does not appear possible.
Some Spanish sources reveal that Yamal’s absence is not permanent, however, Barcelona’s head coach Hansi Flick, may decide that he needs more time off due to his valuable role on the team. Yamal has been in good form especially in the current 2024/25 campaigning season scoring five goals and having made five assists for his Catalan club after featuring in the successful Euro 2024 campaign for Spain. However, Barcelona fans will be expecting the team to wait for a quicker recovery of their talented youngster.
