Pedro's comments about Xavi at the start of the season raised many eyebrows, with the midfielder saying that the Barcelona team and the player himself feel freer under Hansi Flick.
This did not go down well with Xavi, who is said to have been upset by Pedro's statements. He also hit Joan Laporta, accusing her of motivating the statement.
Now, in a recent interview (via SPORT), Pedri has returned his opinion on Xavi, revealing the sanctions imposed on him by the former manager during his time at the club.

Remember some of the rules set by Xavi. He found that most of his sanctions were financial rather than physical.
Pedri stated that if a player was late to training, he had to pay a minimum amount of €1,000 for every minute he was late.
For each additional minute after the first minute, the amount was doubled, meaning a delay of three minutes could cost up to €4,000.

However, Pedri confirmed that this system no longer exists under the new coach Hansi Flick, who applied a more important sanction. Pedri added that under Flick, a player who arrives late to training will neither start nor participate in the next match.
This rule is certainly more punitive and probably a better way to regulate players than fines.

Finally, Pedri also reflected on his English, admitting that he is not a very good speaker. He later recalled an incident where he had to take a photo with actor Tom Hiddleston.
However, when he approached to take a photo, the actor wanted to speak to Pedriu, who admitted that he had great problems understanding what Tom was saying. Pedri also resorted to the classic "yes, yes" to get out of the encounter with Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
