Liverpool remained on top of the Premier League after a close 1-0 win against Crystal Palace, but it was far from an ideal day for the manager Arne Slot.
It was Diogo Jota who put the cherry on the cake scoring the only goal of the first half to send the Reds into the break in October as leaders. Palace, on the other hand, lost their fourth match in the last seven league games and remained goalless at home for the second time in a row.
However, the match was a potential loss for Liverpool when Alisson, the goalkeeper, was substituted mid through an injury. Usually, Deputy to the post-Caoimhin Kelleher also did not play because of illness, the new coach was Vitezslav Jaros. Alisson previously also had a muscle problem for which he had to skip two games earlier in this season, and that makes this new injury another problem for the Brazilian goalkeeper.
Alisson Injury Update: What Went Wrong In Crystal Palace Fixture?
Alisson seemed to struggle with a hamstring problem during the October 5 Crystal Palace match. He was frustrated to the extent that before being substituted, he beckoned for a medic. His successor, Jaros, a 23-year-old Czech international, began his first-team career in a tough manner.
Alisson Becker will resume his duties for Liverpool immediately after the match and Manager Arne Slot may be able to give a status of Alisson’s well-being after the match.
Liverpool-upcoming fixtures
Liverpool’s next Premier League match is on October 20 in a match against Chelsea at Anfield as the season resumes after international games.
