UEFA Champions League is in the limelight as the season 2024/25 is underway. And in the latest previous edition of this format, Real Madrid clinched their 15th title after triumphing over Borussia Dortmund in the final staged at Wembley.
There are 36 sides in the new ‘league phase’ this season – 29 of which have qualified automatically and the remaining 7 from the ‘qualifiers’ section. The event starts in mid-September and through the end of the final in May.
Out of the teams, a total of four are from the English Premier League, namely Aston Villa, and five from each of Bundesliga and Serie A.

The new format of the Champions League, starting with the 2024/25 season, introduces a "league phase" that replaces the traditional group stage. This phase will run longer, offering more matchdays before the knockout rounds begin.
